Canada's Largest Health Benefit Management Company

Montreal, May 21, 2002 -- ESI Canada/CAPSS, headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., today announced the opening of a new Health Care Provider Contact Centre in Montreal. ESI Canada acquired CAPSS (Centre d'autorisation et de paiement des services de santé) in March 2001. The company maintained CAPSS's seven-person workforce, and plans to create 64 new jobs over the next two years.

The company will renovate 835 square metres of office space and purchase state-of-the-art information systems and Internet technology. The new Contact Centre will deliver a wider range and higher level of service to its current client base. In addition to pharmacy claims, ESI Canada/CAPSS will now provide dental and health benefit management services.

"Establishing and expanding our operations in Montreal constitutes a milestone in ESI Canada's growth path. The new Contact Centre is one more step in fulfilling our commitment to more and better services across Canada," said Jean Joubert, President of ESI Canada/CAPSS.

When ESI Canada acquired CAPSS, it became Canada's largest health benefit management company, currently processing $1.5 billion in drug claims in Canada, as well as $400 million in dental claims.

ESI Canada/CAPSS will benefit from the new incentive program recently initiated by the Quebec government, providing a refundable tax credit for e-business in designated sites.
